How to achieve the Kitchen of your dreams . . .

1

Consider how you use your Kitchen

  • Is this a place where you spend a lot of time?
  • Do you prepare meals daily for your family?
  • Or, maybe it's where to have a cup of  coffee?
  • If you are a gourmet chef, go for all the bells and whistles.
  • Choose components according to your needs.

Develop your Kitchen Plan . . .

  • The all important kitchen plan will provide you with the most function.
  • The kitchen work triangle - the spacing between the sink, refrigerator and stove, is the basis for all kitchen plans, large or small.

  • This spacing illustrates convenience, and the size of this triangle can determine the efficiency of your kitchen.
  • Consider the amount of steps you must take to prepare a meal.

  • Keeping this work triangle in mind will guide to the best layout for your kitchen plan.
  • Place appliances and your sink first, allowing for the best possible connections for water, gas, etc.
  • Additional cabinetry and/or a pantry gives more storage.

More Components . . .

  • An island or peninsula add extra storage and eating as your space allows.
  • Upper cabinetry can be placed on available wall space. For a cleaner look use fewer uppers, adding open shelving. This creates an opportunity for more accents. Colorful kitchenware, as well as decorative items definitely enhance your kitchen decor.
  • This creates a great look, especially in an open floor plan.

Open Concept Kitchens . . .

  • Open concept kitchens are a combination of several areas into one cohesive space. A Great Room comprised of a Family Room Area, a Casual Dining Area, as well as a Kitchen.
  • Color and style should coordinate with all these adjoining areas, giving you a beautiful, and comfortable space for your family to enjoy.
