Your living room is one of the most important rooms in your home.

it reflect your personality and lifestyle?

It is used by all members of the family, and for all sorts of activities.

This is the main area seen by visitors.

Therefore, this space should be attractive as well as functional.

Your Living Room should be designed for enjoyment & entertaining

1

Formal Living Rooms . . .

  • If you have a formal living room, it is probably not in use every day. However, this space is very important.
  • A perfect space to entertain your guests, family activities, or quiet moments.
  • Consider other options. Perhaps a library, music room, or home office. Even though the term implies "formal", it's ultimate style and use is up to you.

Casual Living Rooms . . .

  • A casual living room must serves dual purpose.
  • This is your one space to entertain guests, as well as your daily family activity.
  • It must serve your day-to-day needs, provide comfort for your family, and be ready for guests.

Open Concept Living Spaces . . .

Traditional Formal Living room open to entry and staircase.
  • Most homes today have an open concept floor plan: all main areas open to one another.
  • The design of your living room, and these areas should compliment each other.
  • The color scheme, furniture styles, as well as accessories must be similar.  This makes your home more comfortable, and welcoming.
  • Areas can be defined by flooring, area rugs, or just through spacing.

4

Family Rooms . . .

  • A more casual space just relaxing, and family time! With an open concept space its usually open to kitchen and eating areas, plus it's always in use.
  • For watching TV, visibility is the key. Everyone must have a good seat. And the "man of the house" needs his recliner with perfect line of sight, and immediate access to the remote.
  • Create a space for reading with a cozy space to sit or curl up, and adequate lighting.
  • The decor for the family room should reflect your lifestyle, activities, and how many people you would like to seat.

5

Seating & Upholstery . . .

  • Comfortable seating is essential in any space.
  • Fabric or leather upholstery adds dimension and texture, and increases your comfort level.
